Message from Mr. Tsirlis  – Grade 8 transition to Secondary School

An important goal for the TDSB is that every Grade 8 student and family will be equipped with the knowledge and information to make an informed and confident decision for choosing an appropriate secondary school program.  This is a process that requires a partnership among the student, parents/guardians, teachers, guidance counsellor and our secondary school representatives.  This partnership will help ensure that our students will have every opportunity for success as they transition to secondary school.

Please make sure that you visit the Guidance Blog at

The Blog is a useful tool to enhance communication with our teachers, students and the families in the community.  Please visit the website often with your children and let them know that I will be available to provide support or answer questions that may arise.

High School Open Houses are an extremely important part of the High school selection process. Please make every effort to attend the open house of your desired school. Make sure to have a few questions ready prior to attending the open house.
