Courcelette school is embarking on a mathematics journey. We will be working together to enhance math education and student achievement.
Each family with children in K-6 will receive a copy of booklet called “Doing Mathematics with Your Child”, published by Ministry of Education. In it, you will find practical, fun and authentic ways to support your child’s development in mathematics. In addition, you will find many useful online resources on pp. 36-37. This booklet will help supplement what your child is learning in class.
Very shortly, your child will be talking to you about an online mathematics resource called Prodigy. This is an excellent tool which features the Ontario math curriculum. Prodigy reinforces learned concepts in an engaging manner and is a great way to help consolidate mathematics concepts using the wonderful school technology purchased through the support of our parent council.
Our teachers will be using this resource for assessment purposes and as an additional learning tool. While it is designed for students in Grades 1-8, we will gently introduce it to our students in kindergarten.
