Remembrance Day service
Yesterday, we witnessed a moving Remembrance Day service. I wish to thank Captain Clarke for his service and for being with us at Courcelette. I also wish to commend our students for their wonderful contributions. A special thank you goes out to our Grade 8 class led by Ms. McKenzie.
Thank you to all of the families who have already sent in laundry soap and diaper donations towards our annual BBNC Share365 donation drive. We are continuing to collect items for this long standing Courcelette tradition of sharing with our broader community, and we are very thankful for your participation in helping us to achieve our goal by Friday November 25th. As a reminder, each class has been asked to bring in a certain number of family-sized, unscented liquid laundry soap as well as packaged diapers. Diaper sizes per class can be found on the attached chart. Stay tuned for an update next week on how classes are are doing towards their donation goals. If you would like to donate but are having trouble getting to the shopping please contact Emily Green email@example.com or Carrie Broughton who will happily collect funds and make purchases on your behalf.
Only a few more days until the QSP magazine fundraiser ends on November 14th!
We are only 70% of the way to reaching our goal of $10,000 in sales so please consider supporting this worthwhile fundraiser. Remember, approximately 30% of the total sales are returned to Courcelette Community Council to help support literacy programs at our school. Last year, Mr. Bradley bought a set of books for each classroom with the proceeds.
The holidays are just around the corner and subscriptions make a wonderful gift. New this year to QSP(online only) are some wonderful food and gift items as well as wrapping paper – the Elf on the Shelf paper is especially popular.
If you send 12 emails to family and friends, your child will receive the Thumbs-up Ipad/Phone/Tablet stand. No purchase necessary!
You can also use the order forms that were included with the catalogue that was sent home a couple of weeks ago. Please make cheques payable to Courcelette Community Council. If you need additional forms, you can request them at the school office.
