Thank you and congratulations:
Congratulations to the Courcelette PS Cross Team members who participated in the Brock Gordon Meet on Saturday. Ms. Robertson will be sharing the results through the team blog, however, I want to personally say how exciting it was cheer on all of the runners and to watch many team members achieve personal bests. Several students finished in the top 10 and several grade teams received banners and ribbons. There were several heart-warming moments as students cheered for each other, gave great pep talks, and even ran hand in hand across the finish line. I am tearing up (again!) just thinking about it. Thank you to all of the families who provided transportation and support to all of the athletes. To Ms. Robertson, Ms. Clarke, Mr. Knight, and all of our volunteers who ensure the students can train safely as we run in the school yard and surrounding neighbourhood each week- Yeah! Your efforts have helped the students enormously. Way to go Broncos!!!!! Let’s keep this momentum up as we head into the TDSB East Qualifiers. I cannot wait for my Spirit Wear to arrive!
Reflections on last week:
Thank you to Ms. Wilkin’s Grade 7/8 class with the support of Ms. Clarke for leading and preparing presentations for the Character Education, Terry Fox, and Orange Shirt Day assemblies last week. All of the students contributed and many students gave presentations to honour special Canadians who have raised our awareness and inspired future generations.
Our Curriculum Night was a wonderful opportunity to meet many more Courcelette families. Although the “September Sizzle” was in full effect, the students, staff, and community came together to strengthen connections and learn about upcoming plans for this school year. Thank you to the Community Council for providing pizza dinner. Thank you to our teachers and staff for all of their hard work and professionalism. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did. My favourite moments included the impromptu dancing and karaoke, the “New Principal” staff video, and introducing our staff & council “under the balloons!” I was bursting with pride. Luckily, none of the balloons burst!
I look forward to Fall Fest!
