The students are enjoying a wonderful day of dancing as a reward for bringing non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank by the ME to WE Club. The club organized the event and were DJs at the dance. Thank you WE Club for leading by example, thinking globally, and acting locally.
Earlier in the week we celebrated Halloween. All of the classes participated in a parade on the school grounds. Many staff dressed up and hosted class parties in the afternoon. It was lovely to have many families join us to take photos and celebrate the fun spirit of the day. Glad everyone had a safe & happy Halloween.
Last night saw the Courcelette PS Community Council come together to discuss a number of items. I want to thank the council for their support in many aspects of our programming at the school. Most recently the council has approved funding for band equipment, technology purchases including a 3-D printer, a video camera, lap tops, and chrome book computers to provide greater access for the Junior classes.
Next week we will be sending out a paper communication to encourage everyone to sign up for electronic communications via School Council, The Principal’s blog, and to follow @CourcelettePS on twitter for updates.
In order to continue our commitment to community engagement, we need to ensure we have Volunteer Leaders for upcoming events. We are looking for an individual to lead the organization of Santa’s Breakfast, scheduled for Saturday December 9th. This is a time honoured event at the school. Traditionally the Grade 2 parents have hosted this event, but we need a leader. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
