Math Question of the Week: 

Write your answer on any sheet of paper, include your full name, grade, and teacher.

This week’s questions are broad and allow for a variety of responses from students at many levels. The questions are taken from the work of Dr. Marion Small, the former Dean of Education at the University of New Brunswisk.

 

Primary, Grade 1 to 3

Create a sentence that uses each of the four numbers and words shown below.

Other words and numbers can also be used.

3, more, 5, and

Write as many sentences as you can.

 

Junior, Grade 4 to 6

About how many days have you been in school? Tell how you estimated. Tell what mathematical operations you used. Then calculate how many days you have been in school and show your work.

 

Intermediate, Grade 7 & 8

Create a sentence that uses each of the following words and numbers. Other words and numbers can also be used.

40, percent, most, 80

Write as many sentences as you can.
