Please join the School Council as they host a Spring Social event this Friday evening at the Toronto Hunt Club. This event is meant to be a fun evening to celebrate the (almost) end of the school year together and to do some fundraising for the next school year. If it’s your first time coming to the social, no worries, it’s my first time attending too! So please come and support our school and see Ms. Campbell (our ever happy ECE) in her new role as EMC (Event Master of Ceremonies – Auctioneer).
This school year students have benefited from many initiatives made possible through donations to the Courcelette Community Council. Funds paid for the purchase of technology, including chrome books and lap tops, provided buses for school trips, brought a master drumming teacher to the school, gave students the experience of Movement X athletic workshops, purchased art supplies (e.g., print making materials, a video camera) and hands-on materials for science classes (e.g., microscopes for the kindergarten, mini tools for the Primary classes), and supported the production of Annie Jr., the play. These are just a few examples of how the funds raised during this evening help us to provide a rich learning environment for students. In addition, the Council gives back by supporting a neighbouring school based food bank for students who might otherwise experience food insecurity.
Thank you to everyone who has donated items for the auction and their time in getting ready for Friday’s event, especially Ms. Tara O’Grady who is leading the way! The staff and I look forward to saying hello and encourage everyone to attend, it will be a fun evening for a very worthy cause – the little people closest to our hearts!
