Hanukkah

Happy Hanukkah to all of our friends and families celebrating the festival of lights.

We have now completed our Cold Weather Clothing Drive and Toy Drive. Thank you for the donations. The winter wear donations will go to support TDSB School Clothing Banks. Thank you to Ms. Reynold’s, Ms. Laverne’s, and Ms. Fletcher’s classes for organizing. The toys are being delivered to Elizabeth Simcoe PS to support their Angel Tree. The toys will be part of holiday hampers for The Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities. Great job Jamie, Maya TB, and Izzy from Grade 5 for initiating this idea and for wanting to give back to the community.

There is a lot going on at school this month, please note the following important dates:

  • Monday, Dec. 3: Mindful Monday
  • Wednesday, Dec. 5: Wellness Wednesday – Student Wellness Leaders are conducting training in the classes in preparation for THE SILENT FOCUS CHALLENGE! Another way to teach mindfulness to students and incorporate fun & movement.
  • Thursday, Dec. 4: Yearbook Committee Meeting. Students, Staff Lead Ms. Baldwin, and parent volunteers meet in the library 11 am – 12:25 pm for training. It’s great to be adding student voice and contributions to the yearbook.
  • Friday, Dec. 7: PA Day – NO SCHOOL
  • Wednesday, Dec. 12: 6:30 pm K – 3 Music Concert “Sounds of the Season”
  • Friday, Dec. 14: School Spirit Day – Crazy Winter Wear!!! (Dec. 21st is PJ Day)
  • PIZZA LUNCH
  • Wednesday, Dec. 19th: School Council Meeting 7 – 8:30 pm

The HOUSE system of Kew, Woodbine, & Balmy is going well. ALL houses will receive school spirit points for helping.
