Dear Friends & Families,
Congratulations to Ms. Kim Daskalogiannakis, the new Vice-Chair of the Courcelette Community Council. Kim and her husband John have two children in our school in Grade 1 (Marko) and in Grade 4 (Ariadne). We are really thankful for Kim’s enthusiasm and the leadership she brings to the council. Our next council meeting is April 17th and we hope to see you there to meet Kim (if you haven’t already) and help us build capacity on the council.
Right now, I am reaching out to all of our families to consider helping with some important upcoming events:
- Spring Social. This event is being held at the Toronto Hunt Club on MAY 24th, 2019. Please save this date on your calendar. If you would like to assist with the planning and execution of the Spring Social, please contact: Tara O’Grady <email@example.com>
2. Grade 8 Graduation. In the past Grade 7 parents have assisted with organizing and decorating. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Gillan at: Samantha.firstname.lastname@example.org
This year our Grade 8 Graduation will take place at Courcelette PS during the evening of Tuesday, June 25th.
UPCOMING EVENTS THIS MONTH
TUESDAY, APRIL 2
World Autism Awareness Day. The United Nations General Assembly has designated April 2nd as a day to increase awareness, acceptance and understanding for neurodiversity. This year, the UN aims to bring awareness to the fact that many people with autism world-wide face barriers to accessing affordable assistive technology. We’re very fortunate at Courcelette PS to have access to technology due to the fundraising efforts of our community and because we can than utilize computer programs like Read,Write, Gold made available through the TDSB.
Tomorrow, consider wearing blue or your shirt inside out to show your support and acceptance, and to advocate for all people with autism.

We are completing the Caribou Math Contest on-line. For students who have been part of Caribou Club all year, the Grade 3/4s will write the test Wednesday & the Grade 4 – 8 will write the test Thursday. Both at lunch time and in the Library Computer Lab.
