We are back to school tomorrow and working diligently as we head into Term 2. Our focus continues to be on student academic achievement, well-being, and equity.
Please ensure your child is on time for school daily by arriving for the bell at 8:40 am (morning entry) and 12: 25 pm (afternoon entry) for Grades 1 – 8. We always welcome the community to the school, however, if you are entering the building, please come through the front entrance and let the office know about your needs. We can then communicate with students and staff appropriately. Staff are always encouraging home-school communication and it is best to make an appointment through the office or send an e-mail when you need to speak with your child’s teacher.
The next phase of ETFO’s work-to rule campaign begins on Monday and as such, there are planned strikes (schools closed) on February 6th & 7th.
Due to this, we have re-scheduled our school wide dance and lantern festival for this Wednesday, February 5th.
Tomorrow, we have our Hula Hoop Teamwork Challenge taking place in the gym. House Captains and class reps will be ensuring a fun event for participants.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to assist with Pizza Lunch on Friday, January 31st. Our pizza lunches wouldn’t be possible without your dedication and care. Thank you so much!!!
Welcome back to Ms. Sara Woodward, JK/SK teacher in Room 4. I am so thankful to Ms. Michelle Jones for stepping in and taking the lead during her leave. Please welcome Ms. Woodward back to Courcelette and wish ECE Ms. Wendy Hall our best as she is taking a leave of absence to care for her ill parent. In her place, Ms. Jonelle Bryan is joining the team as Early Childhood Educator. I want to thank all of our JK/SK educators for taking the time to meet these past weeks and learn all about the students in Room 4 in order to prepare for a smooth transition.
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend,
